I'm a son, husband, and father who likes to make photographs, design websites, create interactive media, tell stories, read, travel, explore faith, experience music, cook, dine, laugh, be (thought) provoked, and walk at a 10% incline. I also enjoy being a writer, poet, and cheesehead. (Gouda, if you must ask.)

In my opinion the best art reminds us who we are and whose we are; lesser art has its place, though it might serve lesser ends. I hope to be found guilty of some of each. I love to capture fleeting moments into a still frame. It's like drawing a circle on the face of the deep.
The way photographs interpret, communicate, and preserve has kept my interest since the age of six.
In a few years, two lowdown digits (0, 1) have revolutionized yesterday's darkroom labs, redlights, trays, and timers. The way photography is created and shared will never be the same.
The best photographers then and now have shown us that it's not about the science, nostalgia, pixels, or tools; rather, it's all about the images...
Images that convey truth, beauty, wonder, or mystery;
Images that help us think differently about the familiar;
Images that bring near what was far or overlooked;
Images that give voice to the identity, value, and culture of people:
Images that ask questions or tell secrets.
What's with all the verbs? They're just a different way to organize some images for visitors.
